Sony Mobile Communications released a new Android handset, Sony Xperia Sola. The touch screen on the smartphone is claimed has a magical element, which can be operated without touching the screen. Sony calls it "floating touch ' technology.
'Floating touch' Technology can not be used in all functions, but only in the web browser menu. Users can browse web pages without actually touching the screen.
"All you need to do is cast a hand on the screen, like moving the cursor. Once was positioned on the desired link, simply touch to select it," said Sony in their blog.
Sony Xperia Sola has a 3.7 inch screen, 854x480 resolution Display Reality, 1GHz dual core processor and Android 2.3 operating system aka Gingerbread that promised to be updated to Android Ice Cream Sandwich, and 5 megapixel camera
This device also has Near Field Communications (NFC) feature with a device called SmartTags. Two SmartTags contained in the Sony Xperia Sola package can be personalized to perform 10 commands.
As quoted from PCMag, Wednesday (03/14/2012), Sony Xperia Sola will go on sale in the second quarter of 2012. As for the price range has not been announced.
