Feeling bored with the lack variety of a smartphone design, a British student comes with his own design. These students make a smartphone Android OS based made of bamboo.
It was Kieron-Scott Woodhouse, a Middlesex University student who was recently was highlighted with a smartphone concept with a casing carved from a bamboo. As a result, after presenting the the smartphone idea on the internet, Woothouse said he was surprised when contacted by a technology entrepreneur who wants to make the phone into reality.
Called as ADzero, the mobile phone casing combines organically bamboo that were grown and given special treatment to enhance durability.
Even so, Woodhouse admitted that bamboo is a strange material to be used on mobile phones.
"But it (bamboo) is actually very strong and very durable, a perfect quality for the application type," said Woodhouse, as reported by Digital Trends, Friday (03/01/2012).
Until now, not much is known the specifications that owned by ADzero, although Woodhouse claimed it weighs only half from Apple's iPhone, also has a larger screen and supported Android operating system.
China, initially selected as the first country to launch this unique phone, but seeing a good reception at design exhibition in London, finally decided that UK will be the first to welcome the presence of ADzero.
