Microsoft Releases Motion Sensor Control for PC and Xbox, Kinect

According its promise, Microsoft began marketing the Kinect for the PC and Xbox through their distributors in 12 countries. This product is planned will be priced at range of U.S $ 249.

Along with the controller launch, Microsoft also released a Software Development Kit (SKD) Kinect that can be obtained freely.

"The launch of Kinect and its software for Windows is an integrated solution from us," said Craig Eisler, General Manager of Kinect for Windows.

Kinect is indeed a control system that changes the gamers playing styles. Through this device, the user only need to move part of their body to control the characters in the game.

Following are the computer specifications required for Kinect :

Hardware
  • Processor 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit
  • Dual-core 2.66 GHz or higher
  • Dedicated USB 2.0
  • Memory RAM 2 GB

Software
  • Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Express
  • .NET Framework 4.0
  • Microsoft Speech Platform SDK v11

In addition for Xbox 360 and PC, Kinect sensors planned will also be invested in next-generation Windows phones.
